In the short time Responder Rescue has been fully operational, we have assisted over 100 first responders and their families. We have provided assistance through house, car, utility and insurance payments, school tuition, medical supplies and other needs acquired due to injury, illness or event. Family Promise’s three area affiliates – in Savannah, Bryan and Effingham counties – have undergone some significant structural changes. The last details are being finalized, but for all intents and purposes, Family Promise’s three area affiliates have merged, and the new organization is now known as Family Promise of the Coastal Empire. But they did Tuesday when they rescued a goat that somehow got stuck in a feeder Tuesday morning. Millcreek Township Fire and Rescue spokesperson Bob Short told The Bryan Times crews responded to a call at 19550 County Road O to find the trapped goat. He said crew members were able to cut back sections of the feeder to extricate the animal.
